YOURS FREE… the world’s greatest direct mail “shoestring startup”
Dear Marketing Friend,
Do you know what’s in the shortest supply in the world today?
… It’s not money.
… It’s not opportunity.
… It’s not qualified prospects… ready to say “YES!” to your offers.
No, it’s none of these.
It’s ATTENTION.
Let me explain.
When you’ve got the RIGHT person’s attention… along with the RIGHT offer… you can parlay a 19-cent airmail envelope into almost…
Anything you want!
Whether it’s…
… Getting more sales from existing customers
… Mining a pipeline of leads from affluent prospects
… Connecting with world class players (This hapless ad archivist was on a 90-minute Zoom with German billionaire, Norman Rentrop, last Friday.)
… Landing a new job… without the HR hassles
… Engineering recurring revenue deals… with direct mail “shoestring startups”
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg because mastering direct mail is a SUPERPOWER you own forever.
The postal service can never DEPLATFORM you… unless you’re really naughty. 🙂
And no one can ever outbid you for the price of a stamp.
In fact, the inside of an envelope my be “final frontier” of fortunes and freedom… in a world big tech tyranny
Because no matter what products and services you sell… or where you sell them…
Once you master the ART and SCIENCE of getting your prospects’ attention — REALLY getting their attention — you can succeed no matter the chaos going on in the world around you. So, if you’d like:
A FIGHTING CHANCE at competing with…
Inboxes jammed with clutter… hair trigger spam filters… dozens of open browser tabs… smartphones spitting out notifications every few moments… and up to 4,000 marketing messages a day… pummeling your prospects… then…
Airmail, as a class of mail, hasn’t even existed in the United States since 1977! It was replaced by First Class postage which was three cents cheaper. The same is true in most of the rest of the world with domestic postage.
Why does this matter… and how can this open a fresh avenues for profits?
Let me explain.
No matter where you call home… with the proper postage… you can send an airmail envelope as reliably across town… as you can around the world. Don’t take my word for it though, mail yourself an “airmail letter” and wait for it to arrive a day or two later.
Why airmail?
Besides an airmail letter’s uncanny ability to get INSTANT ATTENTION in a world of clutter… there’s another advantage.
More on that in a moment.
Meanwhile, here’s a million dollar marketing morsel.
The Canadian philosopher and visionary, Marshall McLuhan, almost single-handedly created media studies as a discipline.
Yet, his immortal five-word phrase, “The medium is the message” is profound for those of us in marketing.
What does it mean?
It’s this.
The nature of a medium is more important than the meaning or content of the message.
Think of it this way.
– Newspapers = news
– Text messaging = urgency
– Film = entertainment
– Direct mail = personal communication
In short, the way we send and receive information is more important than the information itself.
That’s a hard pill to swallow for an advertising copywriter like me… you mean readers aren’t hanging on my every word? 🙂
The good news is there’s no law stopping us from combining a magic medium… and killer copy.
The even better news is…
Airmail is IRRESISTIBLE to your prospects!
If direct mail is personal communication, then airmail is EXOTIC, attention-getting, personal communication that ALWAYS winds up in your recipient’s “A-pile” and elicits an excited reaction of: “Who sent me this?”
And as long as you’re tuned into your prospect’s highest wants and needs, no one will ever accuse you of “tricking them” into opening an envelope.
You can command a LOT of attention with an airmail envelope. Sure, airmail doesn’t quite have the urgency or importance of a FedEx.
But guess what?
Airmail is not that far behind. And at 74 cents for the postage and envelope here in the States, you can afford to send OVER 30 MAILINGS for the price of one FedEx.
But that’s not all.
